Personal Support Workers assist nursing personnel in providing care to residents and performing procedures and treatments for which instructions have been received. In addition, perform duties related to the activities of daily living of the residents.

Qualifications Required:

• PSW Certificate

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES but not limited to the following:

• Performs resident personal care duties to clients in their home and long-term care & retirement homes

• Understands the needs of residents and have practical oral and verbal communication skills

• Performs light housekeeping duties (if required)

• Completes daily task reports for clients regarding their behavior and any changes in their daily routines

• Must be able to work in a team environment

• Be willing to work varied shifts between Monday-Sunday (mornings, days, and night shifts available)

• Communicates effectively with older people and colleagues

• Cooperate as a member of a health care team • Have an interest in, and the ability to work with the elderly

• Skilled in point of care
